AJ Update

Well our little miracle is still little, as you can see by these first two pictures. But Andrew is working on getting bigger, He is now getting 19 mls of milk for two feedings and then he will be getting 20 mls for two feedings, and so on, until he reaches his goal of 27 mls. He has been doing very good with his feedings, he seems to thrive on them!

His weight went down to 1120 grams, but the nurses are saying that he should be gaining weight soon, now that he is getting more milk per feeding.

His breathing as been pretty good, the first 2 days he was on what is called the CPAP, which allows him to do all his own breathing but just has a constant air flow blowing into his nose to make it easier for him to breath. Then when he was 3 days old they put nasal prongs on instead of the CPAP which really does the same thing except it just gives him little puffs of air instead of a constant flow.

Because he is so small he will forget to breath every once in a while, this is very normal. Usually you just need to wake him up a bit and then he breaths again. On Sunday Andrew was put back onto the CPAP because of forgetting to breath to often and then taking awhile to get out of it, he was on them for 1 day and was then put back on the nasal prongs.

And that is what he is on still, so we are praying that his breathing will stay strong and that he will be able to stay on the nasal prongs, they are alot more comfortable for him, and its also a sign that he is getting better.

Other than that Andrew is doing very good, the nurses say that he is ahead of most babies his age, which I'm saying is thanks to all the prayers that have been and are still going up for him. Thank You Everyone!!!!

Andrew has had many tests and xrays; except for the ones of his heart, which we are still waiting for, they have all come back looking very good, he had a small amount of bleeding on his brain, another very normal thing for premature babies, the Dr. said that it was not serious at all, they will be doing a follow up in a few weeks.

And thats how a little family is dong, Josh and I are staying at a very wonderful couple who have opened their home to us. They are a huge answer to prayer!! We ask that you would continue to pray for us, you are making such a difference in our lives and the life of little Andy.
