3 Weeks Old!

I can hardly believe that 3 weeks (and 3 days) have gone by so quickly!! What joy this little miracle has brought to our family!
Brendan is doing great! Eating, sleeping and growing. I even got a smile out of him last Sunday, but they are still to few and far between to be able to catch on camera. Last night he decided to eat every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, so I'm guessing maybe we are heading into a growth spurt, I guess we'll see. He was back to his birth weight at 2 weeks and is continuing to gain. He is also starting to not fit into some newborn sleepers anymore, which reminds me, I need to sort through some more boys clothes soon!
Today my Mom and sisters are coming over and we want to get our garden planted. I am so thankful for their help, I know that by myself it would take me a day or two. :)
We are also thankful for the sunshine again! It seems like such a long time since we've had any sun, so this is super nice!
They guys have caught up with the seeding, only some big wet potholes remain and we are thankful for all the seeding that we got done!
Andy and Kayla are doing great! They love their little brother so much! Yesterday we went shopping and they stayed with Grama, when we got home they couldn't get in enough hugs and kisses, not even noticing that Mommy was back too. :) They have enjoyed playing outside so much and every day Andy asks to go play in the sandbox, I'm sure if we brought him food in there he would never come out. :)
Well that about does it for an update, I'm off to get some work done before my kiddos wake up!

Helping Mom

You would be surprised at how many little jobs you can find for a 3 and 1 year old to do! :)
When Mom spends a good amount of her time sitting and feeding the baby its a great thing!
Helping with baking...
Cleaning up toys and books...
Setting the table...
Clearing the table...
Filling the toilet paper cupboard...
Folding clothes...
Bringing diapers to the garbage...
Answering the door...
Bringing me water, my phone or a book...
Yup, I have to wonderful little helpers, I am so very thankful for them, I love them to bits!!

Play Dough and Mather's Day

WOW!!!
This word sums up what I think about my life these days! :) I never in my life would have guessed how different things are when you go from 2 kids to 3. I thought 1 to 2 was big but that was nothing compared to this! :) And to top it all off Josh and his Dad have been seeding almost non stop so the kids don't see Daddy and meals need to be packed and brought out to the field.
But we are surviving. :) There is new mercy waiting for me every morning, and the Lord supplies the strength that I need. Prayers have been answered and Brendan is now sleeping 6-7 hours at night, in stead on the 2-3 we were getting the first nights. So life is good.
And I am thankful beyond words for the sweet family that lives on the same yard as I do. Baby sitting, house cleaning, meal making, baby holding, and so on have all been done for me many, many times while I get this new life figured out. All that I can say is I have a super wonderful family-in-law!!
This afternoon was quite nice. Brendan fell asleep in the swing, the kids played with play dough and I got my bread maker figured out. Then we all had naps! :)

And seeing as Sunday was Mother's Day we got a few quick pictures before we left for church.
I had a wonderful Mother's day with my family.
I AM BLESSED!!!

Week 40 continued :)

We did not have to wait till week 41!
Brendan Cole made his appearance on May 6 at 6:59 pm, at 40 weeks and 4 days.
He was ready to be born, weighing 9 pounds and 3 ozs and measuring 22 inches.
He has already been such a blessing to us and we are praising God for another little miracle!
Andy and Kayla love him a lot and holding Brendan is a big treat.
Brendan is a good nurser and a super great snuggler. :) He loves it when his Daddy holds him.
Life is a lot busier with 3 kids though and we have been so blessed by our family and all that they have done for us, keeping Andy and Kayla overnight, or during my nap. Holding Brendan while I have a shower or a nap, bringing us meals and cleaning the house, you guys are all so very special to us and we love you so much!!

Just a few mins old.

From the time he born, till we left the hospital later that evening he was awake and looking around.

At home! Snuggles with Daddy.

A very proud big brother. :)

And big sister too!

We also want to thank everyone who helped us with shingling... yes, we got it done before the baby came. :)
Mom and Dad, Caleb, Zach, Jesse, Nathan, Henry and Steve for all your work up on the roof, Jen, Kerri and Megan for the yummy food and Raechelle for visiting with me and helping the day go by quicker. :) We could never have done it without you!!

Week 40

Yes, I have made it past 40 weeks! ( By 1 day ) :) I am in unknown territory, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. But of course I have only made it through one day, things might change in a weeks time. :)
We had a midwife appointment yesterday and everything sounds good, I have an ultrasound booked for next week if we make it 41 weeks.

And that's about all I have to say, other than, I can't have our baby till Sunday ( so says my husband ) :) Because of this.....

Yes we are getting new shingles on our roof!! So exciting! They are hoping to be done by tomorrow, so it should all work out just fine. :)
