Today was a day of many prayers.
With the weather saying that there was rain on the way and our harvest just getting started we didn't really want to have to deal with it.
So we prayed.
We prayed that the rain would stay away.
We prayed that the clouds would part for our fields.
It was strange.
All Summer along we had prayed for rain.
And almost all Summer long the rain had stayed away.
Maybe it would do the same thing now.
But while praying this afternoon I was reminded that maybe God had a different plan.
Maybe He knew that we needed to learn a lesson.
The lesson of trust.
The lesson of not leaning on our understanding and what we think is right.
The lesson of leaving it all in His hands.
So my prayers changed from "keep the rain away" to, "may Your will be done."
And this evening the rain came.
The most rain that I've seen on our yard all Summer.
As it rained I watched and I let all the doubt wash away.
God knew what He was doing.
He has a plan for our harvest, to make Himself known.
I prayed for trust for the farmers that I saw in our shop across the yard.
I prayed that even now we would give the harvest into His hands.
I prayed that we would learn the lesson that we needed to learn with grace.
We still love Him.
We still trust Him.
We still believe that He knows what is best.
And once we again we pray for the sunshine; we pray for God's will to be done.
