Summer Time Brings...

Flies.

I HATE flies!

They are super annoying!!

They sit on your food, poop on your walls, buzz around your head, they just go everywhere that you don't want them to!!

So I try very hard to be diligent with keeping the doors closed and killing the flies that do make it sin before they have a chance to make a mess.

I must have taught this one well cause he is always on the look out for flies to swat. :)

The other day he came to me and said, "can we open the door so that more flies will come in?"

Good bye Terrible Twos

Last week we celebrated...

it was a long looked forward to event, ever since Andrew and Makayla had birthdays back in November, Brendan had been waiting for his to arrive.

When the count down began on Monday he could hardly wait.

And now he's finally 3! It seems like he has been 3 for a long time already. Brendan has always acted and felt older to me than he actually is, perhaps it's because he is very self reliant, he keeps himself entertained, he picks up almost everything he hears like school work the kids are doing and memory verses they are learning. He is a deep thinker, even though not all of what he thinks about is deep. :)

And so as I look back on the terrible twos I cant say that they were terrible at all, but rather a joy to watch this little boy grow up, to laugh at his humour and think of how extremely blessed we are to be his parents!!

We love you Brendan!

Brendan's birthday was a busy day on the farm, Josh left early that morning so we didn't get to celebrate until later on. 

We have taken Brendan to McDonalds for both of his birthdays so far, so we kinda couldn't miss out this time. At supper time we picked up Josh from the field and headed to Morden to eat.

Then we dropped Josh off again and went home to continue celebrating.

We opened gifts, or I should say a gift, we had bought him a trike, I knew he would like it, I didn't know he would like it that much! :)

After that he wasn't interested in anything else...

We were able to get him off the trike for some cake, but he didn't even have time to finish before he was gone again!

After many months of trying to decide what kind of cake he wanted, he finally settled on a minion cake.

He was thrilled! :)

And while the others ate cake, she ate her blanket.  :)

Catching Butterflies

For Brendan there are 2 kids of bugs, lady bugs and butterflies.

The other night he headed (rubber boots and all) Picked up a butterfly net and started "catching butterflies" which for him means, hitting flies with the net. :)

Where could they be?

Saw one!

Oh, I missed it mommy.

Searching high and low.

Did I see something move?

How dare those flies come in our yard?!

Happy First Birthday Brendan!

Wow!! One whole year! 365 days of you in my life, and I wouldn't trade anyone of them for the world!

Brendan Cole, you are such a blessing to our family. Already at a young age you had a very unique personality and often I find myself just watching you thinking of how you know just what you want, and you try your very best to accomplish it! :)

You have a strong will, you make sure that you know what you can and can't get away with, and always keep Mommy on her toes.

I can't believe how smart you are, you learn things very quickly and often figure out stuff that I haven't even taught you yet! It reminds me that you watch everything that is going on around you!

This first year you have done a lot of growing. You learnt to drink cows milk and eat table food (both if which you really like) You learnt how to sit, crawl, walk and sign please among many other things.

Your brother, sister and Daddy are your favourite people and they know how to make you laugh.

Whenever the kids are playing you always like to be in the centre of it, making sure you know whats going on.

Brendan, we love you and can't imagine life with out you! We feel so blessed that God chose you to be a part of your family!

It Happened!!!

My baby is walking!! It happened a week ago, at Grama's house, cause he couldn't get enough of playing with the spindles on the back of her chairs. :)

And now he is everywhere. He still doesn't make it to his destination most of the time, but he try's, and he's getting better every day.

Exciting times!!!!

Oh, and Kayla figured out how to do a summer salt. :)

{ 11 Months }

My baby is growing up, and ever so fast!

I can't believe that in less than a months time he's going to be one! 

Brendan, you bring so much joy to our family, you are such a sweetheart and we are so blessed to you in our family!

Brendan is crawling (fast) if you put him down he is gone before you know it! He is also standing every where, he won't hold on to anything, but he also refuses to take a step, he would much rather go down on his knees and crawl. I'm sure that once he decides that it's time to walk he will have it figured out real quick. I'm fine with just crawling for now. :)
