Fathers Day

Its that special day again, where are celebrate all the wonderful men in our lives, whether it be our fathers, father in laws or husbands.
In my case I get to celebrate all three!

I have many, many memories with my Dad.
Growing up on a farm we were able to be together a lot. I remember riding in the back of him combine as a 3 or 4 year old, Im sure I had naps in that dusty thing too.
Then a few years later I was driving my own combine, and I remember Dad would always wave at me, every time we passed each other on the field, its such a small thing but it meant a lot to me.
Dad, the loving and strong man that you were for Mom when we lost Rosalin was amazing to see!
You would always remind us to be quiet while she was napping or to be extra patient with her.
You were are still are such an amazing example to so many people, me included!
I always enjoyed hanging out with you, camping, bike rides, going for ice cream, walks and so much more!
I remember one walk we took to the farm one Winter night when you were going to check on the cows and I came with you. I remember asking you how I would know when the right guy for me would come along, and your answer was so reassuring!
So told me that all I needed to do was to trust you.
God had made me to be your daughter, and I had been placed in your care.
You were praying for God's will for my life every day, so I should be patient, wait on God and trust you to make the right decision, you wouldn't let anything happen to me.
Walking home that night I felt to warm and safe, I had the best Dad in the world!
And I still do!
Thanks Dad for all the time you spent teaching and training us.
I love you!!!

And also happy Fathers Day to my Father in law.
Thank you raising such an amazing man to me my husband and the father to out kids.
Thank you for the relation that we have, for the job on the farm, where we can do stuff together as a family!
We love you!!!

And of course, happy Fathers Day to my husband!
You are an amazing Daddy, and I have always loved watching you with our kids, training, cuddling and loving in them.
They are blessed beyond words!

WE love all 3 of you and wish you the very best Fathers Day!!!!

A Summer Favourite

Growing up whenever Summer rolled around and we could buy delicious watermelon from the store, we would make roll cookies, a dough rolled out and then fried, and then enjoy them with watermelon, and for dessert dip them in syrup and jam, so good!!

My recipe from Grama.

The Apple

Here are some interesting facts that you might not know about the apple:
7,500 different varieties  are grow world wide.

The apple tree is part of the rose family.

2 pounds of apples make one 9 inch pie.

Apples are fat, sodium and cholesterol free.

The biggest apple ever picked weighed 3 pounds.

Apple trees can live to be 100 years old.

It takes the energy from 50 leaves to make 1 apple.

The apple is the second most valuable fruit in the USA, the orange is first.

Archeologists have found evidence of people enjoying apples since at least 6500 BC

Apples are a great source of fiber.

2/3 of its fiber is in the peel.

Most apples are picked by hand.

Our baby is 15 weeks along and the size of an apple. :)

Memories Monday; Spraying

As spraying as been in full swing this Spring I have been thinking back to what spraying used to be like, the very first Spring that Josh and I were married.
Now all that I get of spraying is climbing up the steps and put Josh's lunch in the sprayer cab, bringing supper to the field, and sometimes running to town for a part. Otherwise I don't really notice that much of it, oh, Josh does smell like chemical when he gets home.
But back before we had kids I never, and I mean, NEVER stayed at home by myself. Whenever Josh left, I left, we would get up at 5;30 or 6, I would pack us a lunch in the morning and throw a load of clothes in the washer while Josh got tractors ready to go. Then off to the field we went for the day.
We had so much fun together.
We told stories
Made up and sang silly songs
Laughed and cried
Talked about our past
Made plans for our future
And worked. :)
Then at 5:30 we got supper brought to us by Josh's sweet sisters. I sometimes wonder ho many meals they have given us. :)

That year our job was to haul water from the community well to the field where the sprayer was going.
That good old pull type sprayer, I remember changing nozzles on it, and that happy day when it got parked in the very back of the yard. :)

At the well filling our tanks with water.

Aint he cute?

Washing off the sprayer after finishing a field and before moving to the next.

I love this guy!!

A Lazy Sunday

This morning I got the kids ready for church while Josh was already at church practicing for praise and worship.
They were so happy to all be matching today. :)

We had baby dedication at church for 6 sweet little kids, 3 girls and 3 boys.

We came home and had peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch, then Brendan and I had naps while the other watched a movie.
After that we walked around the yard for a bit then came in and had a pizza party in the living room while watching the Willis family.

After cleaning up I worked out then we read some stories and put the kids to bed. Now its snack time! :) Hope you all had a great Sunday!
