Makayla started smiling at 3 weeks, but she liked to save them a lot back then. In the last 3 weeks she as started smiling and cooing all the time, it's so cute!!

Wow, 2 months have gone by so fast! We have enjoyed every day of it and continue to thank God for our beautiful baby girl.
Kayla is doing great, eating, sleeping, growing and smiling, all those fun baby things. She weighs around 10 pounds and started wearing 0-3 months clothes last week. She is not sleeping through the night, but I am blessed by a husband and family that see to it that I take time for naps, thanks you guys!
We headed over to see aunty Megan yesterday and in 20 minutes we had these lovely pictures, thanks so much Megan we love you!!

How Things Are Going

Now that Christmas and New Years are over we have gotten back into a somewhat normal schedule.
I am enjoying everyday life a lot, taking care of 2 kids is busy, but so much fun!
Makayla is doing great, she is holding her head, smiling a lot and growing. She out grew her newborn clothes last week. It's hard to believe that next week she will be 2 months old!! She is still eating every 3 to 4 hours during the night, but hey what can you do about it, I'm blessed to be able spend this time with her, I missed out on it with Andrew.
Andrew is doing great, he is not talking but he has his ways of showing just what he needs or wants. He is a very a good big brother and always makes sure that I know when Kayla is crying and that he gets to say good morning to her.
I am so thankful for 2 sweet, healthy blessings from God!

Christmas Time

Wow, Christmas really snuck up on me this year! I guess I have been to busy enjoying our 2 little blessings I have not even done any Christmas baking! ( but we can still enjoy a lot of it, we just need to visit either of our families ) :)
Not having snow doesn't help at all, and neither does not playing hockey. Josh and Dad have been working really hard to get the ice ready for Christmas eve, now we just need to pray for cold weather, not often that we do that around here!
Because all the days around Christmas are filled with family get togethers we had our own little Christmas yesterday, not much of anything, just enough to make some memories.

1 Month Old!!

It's hard to believe that our little baby is one month old already! She is such a blessing to our family and we love her so much! We got her weighed yesterday and she weighs 9 pounds and 1 ounce, which is an answer to prayer. She is starting to get used to her schedule which is very nice for both her and me.

As soon as I can I want to get Megan to take her 1 month pictures, but until then I thought I would post a picture of her and of myself to see if you think that we look alike.

The Past 3 Weeks

It is hard to believe how much time has gone by since we were blessed with our baby girl! I can't imagine life without her, what would I do all day?! :)

Makayla is a very good baby but so far I have not been working on putting her on a schedule because we want her to gain weight. Last week she was 8 pounds 5 ounces and this week she needs to be around 8 pounds 14 ounces, so we will see how heavy she is and if the midwife is happy with her weight gain then I want start getting on a schedule just because it is so much nicer for me and the baby, I know when she is hungry and when she is tired so I'm not always trying to figure it out.

Our nights are good, she will sleep 2 to 3 hours in between eating and she goes right to sleep after eating so I'm happy with that, she is still a little baby after all.

I am very thankful that so far I have had enough milk for her, and I pray that continues. I am also very thankful for Josh, he is a wonderful Daddy and I can always count on him holding Makayla when he can so that I can get some work done or take a nap. And I'm thankful for Andrew and Makayla, two wonderful blessings from God!

The Grey Cup

Being a Big Brother

This week has been wonderful!! I so love being the Mom to 2 sweet kids.
we are all doing very good, Makayla has had some good nights and some not so good nights, but I have been able to rest so I'm doing great. Andrew has settled right into being a big brother, he loves Makayla and is always wanting to kiss her and pinch her nose, something his Daddy does to him. At the last check up Makayla weighed 7 lbs 10 ozs. we have another appt. tomorrow so I'm hoping that she will have gained some weight, so that I know she is getting enough milk.
This has been such a wonderful experience... so different from when Andrew was little, I am so blessed!!

Welcome Home Baby Girl!!!

We are ever so happy and blessed to welcome Makayla Faith into our family.
She was born on November 10 at 3:50 pm weighing 7 lbs and 14 ozs and measuring 20 3/4 inches long.

We left Andrew at my parents and then showed up with baby Makayla without telling them, it was a lot of fun to surprise them. :)

Good Morning Sweetheart!!

Makayla came rather quickly. :) I had been having short contractions the day before but Thursday morning I really didn't have any. Then at 11 am my water broke, I thought it would still be awhile before we needed to leave home so I didn't bother calling Josh, but by the time that he came in for lunch I was having 1 min. contractions about 2 mins apart so we decided to leave right away. :) We got to Morden at 1:20 and my midwives got there 15 mins later. By then I was 9 cm. and at around 3 I started pushing, 50 mins later we were able to hold our miracle in our arms. She started nursing right away and 2 hours later we left for home. It was a wonderful birth, so different from Andrew's and an answer to prayer.

We want to thank all of you from the bottom our hearts for all the prayers you have prayed for us in the past 9 months. We felt your prayers and know that by them we were able to put our complete trust in God.

Until The Cows Come Home

We got the last of our cows home this morning. It went really fast, they behaved very well.
So whatever it is that you do till the cows come home should be done now. :)

So now that the cows are home I can have our baby. :)

Our First Snow

What excitement! We have snow! It's funny how you also get so excited for the first snow but then by the end of the Winter you can't wait for it to melt. :)
Anyway, Andy was really excited, he obviously didn't remember it from last year and couldn't get enough of it. He was looking down at his feet the whole time we were walking, I'm sure he is going to enjoy this Winter.

2 years ago I was laying in a hospital bed with many questions... and most of them didn't get answered for a long time. I remember being very thankful for Josh cause he was strong for me when I didn't know if i could go on, and for a loving and caring God who knows exactly how much we can carry and will never leave us.
When I look back at the past 2 years I am still amazed at where God has brought us from. We are so blessed to have a healthy 2 year old in our family, we love him so much!!

To celebrate Andrew's birthday we got both of our families together for supper on Wednesday for supper, it was a lot of fun!

Rita made a very cute cake...

Raechelle made Andrew's favorite meal, meatloaf and potatoes, it was yummy!

After supper and cake Andrew opened his gifts.

And now he is kept busy with all the new toys, it's really nice for me. :)

Week 39

ONE MORE WEEK!!!!!
That's about all that I have to say. :) I am beyond excited to meet this little miracle and now I only have days left to count... it seems unreal that Lord willing I'm going to be a mommy again!
We had a midwife appt. yesterday, all went well, the baby has dropped and I am having a lot of braxton hicks so everyone is getting ready!

I have sore ribs from this little one trying to stretch, but I still enjoy every movement even though I can't wait to watch this baby move instead of just feeling it. :)

Week 38

Well I don't have much to say, the baby is ready to be born, now all we have to do is wait!
We had a midwife appointment yesterday and the baby is doing good.
He/she weighs between 6 and 61/2 pounds and measures 19 to 20 inches long.

I am ready and waiting. Everything is washed, packed and ready to go. :)

Week 37

Praise the Lord, we made it!! Our baby is officially full term now and can been born any day that he/she pleases! What a blessing!
This week the baby is beginning to slow down a bit in it's growth, he/she now weighs around 6 pounds and measures just over 19 inches long, twice as heavy and 4 inches longer than what Andy was when he was born.
And since the baby is full term there are not really any other changes, other than that it is growing hair ( I hope) :)

I am still doing great! I had the fun of getting ready for a baby this week, I missed out on that with Andrew. On Tuesday we had a midwife appt. and she read us the results of the ultrasound, and the doctor says that this baby gets an 8 out of 8 for it's health, another wonderful answer to prayer!!

Week 36

36 weeks!!! I am so thankful to God for bringing us to this point. At the beginning of this pregnancy I didn't know if we would make it this far, but God has shown us His mercy once again! If the baby were to be born now I could deliver at Boundary Trails, a hospital an hour from our place, instead of having to go to the city, just over 2 hours from here, I am so thankful!
Not much is changing for the baby these weeks except gaining weight. He/she weighs close to 6 pounds and measures around 18 1/2 inches long! And I can feel every ounce/inch of it! :)
Besides growing baby Pauls is listening, feeling, touching and looking around when awake. He/she will even turn it's head toward light!

As for me, I have never left this large and slow! :) Just rolling over in bed takes a lot of effort! But it's so completely worth it! I am beginning to get things ready for the baby. I set up the crib in our room, which makes waiting even harder but I do enjoy the excitement of looking forward to the arrival of this little one.

Week 35

Only 5 weeks to go!!! With everyday that goes by I get more excited for the time when I can finally hold this miracle in my arms instead of my tummy!

We had an ultrasound and midwife appointment on Monday and both went very well, it will take a week till we get the news from the Dr. if the baby is completely healthy, but from what we could see everything was there and working very well. I was going to post pictures but the baby is to big to be able to get a good picture. It was so exciting to see our baby moving around, it made it seem to real!

This week little Pauls continues to grow more fat, he/she now weighs 5.3 pounds and measures 18.2 inches. The babies lungs are now producing surfactant which keeps the lungs from sticking together.

By the time 8 pm rolls around every day I am ready to do nothing. My back and ribs hurt and sitting just feels really good. But I am very thankful that I can make it till then, I'm sure my days would be a lot longer if I felt that way all day. I am starting to get things ready for the birth, it so exciting!!!

Week 34

Week 34! Wow, time seems to be going so fast, and yet not fast enough; I can't wait to meet this little miracle!
This week baby Pauls is working on developing it's immune and digestive systems. It he/she were to be born this week it would be able to digest milk without any problems.
The length of our baby this week is just over 17 inches and he/she weighs around 4 to 5 pounds!

I feel like I'm running out of room for this baby. :) Every kick is very easily felt and I find myself jumping once in awhile when my ribs are in babies way. But I am so blessed to still have this little one inside me!

Next week Monday we have an ultrasound to see if this baby will have the same syndrome as Andy has, I am ever so excited to see our baby!!

A Beautiful Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday we headed over to family for lunch and the afternoon. It was a very beautiful day outside and the kids had a great time playing some football, and I had a nice time taking pictures.

Week 33

It's getting colder... which means that the time for our baby to be born is getting closer!!

This week the babies lungs are almost developed and if it were to be born now Lord willing we would not need to spend much more than 2 weeks in the hospital!

Basically all that the baby is working on these days is getting longer and heavier. He/she weighs around 4 1/2 pounds and measures just over 17 inches.

He or she is also sensitive to light and noise now, often I'll feel a big jump when there is a loud noise. I love knowing that he/she is in there listening to us talk.

I'm feeling big and great! I really enjoying these last few weeks, and I'm beginning to make lists of things to do before the baby gets hear. And once it does I promise that this blog will be more interesting to read again! :)

Another week closer to meeting our newest miracle, talk about exciting news!!
There is really not a lot to say about the baby this week, now that everything is developed he/she is staying busy practicing it's breathing, blinking it's eyes, sucking it's thumb, making faces, listening to whatever is happening around me, smiling and growing, growing, growing! Together we will be gaining about 1 pound every week, half of that going to the baby. :)
Right now he/she weighs around 4 pounds and measures close to 17 inches.

I'm doing great! I'm at the point where I am trying to decided if I should start getting baby stuff ready or wait longer because I don't want to be bored with nothing to do at the end of my pregnancy. :) I never feel alone because as soon as I sit down I can enjoy a wonderful preformance in my tummy. :)

Canning Salsa

After much pruning, watching and waiting the tomatoes are ripe!! I'm not sure why but I really enjoy canning anything with tomatoes, in fact I have been looking forward to this day all week :)

It is such a blessing to be able to store food for the Winter, and ever so yummy!!

First we chopped up tomatoes...

Which was very exciting for Andy because he really, really likes tomatoes.

Then we chopped up peppers...

and onions...

then added some spices and mixed it all together.

Then we took the empty jars...

and filled them with delicious salsa!

Week 31

Big news for the baby this week... it has now perfected the art of smelling, hearing, seeing, tasting and feeling! The only that our baby can't really do is breath, which we figured out when Andrew was born.
The rest of it's time in my womb will be spent working on learning how to breath and growing bigger and chubbier.
This week the baby weighs about 3 1/2 pounds and measures 16 inches. From this week on he/she will be gaining around 1/2 a pound every week!

I am feeling great! We had a midwife appointment last week and everything went well. The baby was head down with it's back towards mine, the perfect position for me to feel each of his/her kicks and punches. :) I can't keep from thinking only 9 more weeks, only 9 more weeks!! It's starting to get harder and harder for me not to get out the car seat and baby clothes and start packing. :) I keep telling myself to wait a few more weeks.

Andy does not get to go a long in the grain truck very often because he is either sleeping or eating supper. Last week he got the chance to go after supper and he really enjoyed it!

Week 30

What a wonderful thought! It's only because of God that this little baby is even growing inside of me, He has formed it and knows every day of it's life, why do we even bother worrying? We serve an all powerful God!!

Today has been filled with memories for me of what we were going through the last time I was 30 weeks pregnant, all day long I have been paying very close attention for any signs of labor. But so far all is well and I know that the ONE who has brought us this far will be with us no matter what happens in the next while.

This week the baby has not been growing as much seeing as it has been putting all it's energy into brain development. The neurons of the brain are now developing into 6 different layers, each with a special function, memory, vision, emotions, thought process and coordinated vision.
Now the finger and toe nails are completely formed and the baby is losing the soft layer of hair that have been covering it's body until now. Baby Pauls has now also figured out it's sleep/awake cycle, I can only hope that he/she will have it right. :) Whenever he/she is awake it's eyes are open and it's looking around.

I am feeling great! I started having false labor this week while going for walks so both Josh and my midwife said that I should cut out the walks, it's not really what I wanted to hear cause I really enjoy my walks, but it's better than having the baby now! I also have to roll over a lot more now when I'm sleeping because to long on one side makes it feel like the baby will kick it's way right out! But it's a wonderfully reassuring feeling!

One very warm Summer evening Andy and I had run out of things to do in the house, so we headed outside.

After a few tries at taking pictures I had to Megan over and ask her to explain some things about the camera, after that everything worked out much better!

Then out of the kindness of her heart Meg stayed and got Andy to smile, which made the pictures even better. Thanks Meg!!

Week 29

I think I have now grown to the some size as I was with Andrew. I just looked back at the first post that I did about this pregnancy and I have really grown!! It makes me ever so thankful that Andy is able to walk and I don't have to carry him everywhere anymore.
This week the baby weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and measures around 15 inches. These last 11 weeks will be spent growing longer and chubbier. The bones are now all developed, although they are softer than our bones and will stay that way till after he/she is born. The baby needs another 8 weeks till the lungs will be fully developed, but the brain is now controlling his/ her breathing and body temperature.

I am feeling great, I seem to always be either hungry or full. :) My tummy as less room for food now so it doesn't take much to fill me up and it sure doesn't take long till I need to eat again! Naps are also once again becoming more needed, as is a back run once in awhile.

2 months, 2 weeks and 4 days, or 78 days left!

Week 28

The first week of my third trimester! Need I say that Summer is going by very quickly?!
This week the baby is growing hair, something that I think Andrew missed out on. :) And the eye brows and eye lashes are also growing. He/she is continuing to practice breathing, up until now all the breathing has been random but is now starting to reflect it's sleep and awake pattern.
Some babies will turn head down at 28 weeks, but not all, I have no idea idea which way this baby is right now.
He/she is now 15 inches long and weighs between 2 and 3 pounds!

2 months 3 weeks and 3 days, or 85 days left!

Today also marks 3 years since the day that Josh asked me to marry him. It's hard to believe that it's been 3 years already! I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a Sunday and Josh came over for the day, in the afternoon he and Dad went for a walk that seemed to last forever!! And that evening Josh and I went for a walk. :) I already knew that he was going to ask me because we had talked about it when we first started courting (10 days before that) :) But it was still a wonderful moment, one that I will never forget! As I said we went for a walk, we had not gone far when Josh said, so you wanna get married? :) Needless to say I didn't need to think about it at all, I said yes right away. And then the next rainy day we went to buy a ring. :)

I love you Josh, more now than ever!!

Big News!!

Andy is walking!!! He started about a week ago and is now following we around all over the house. He still can't crawl or get up on his own so he is always very careful that he won't fall because then he knows he's stuck till Mom comes and helps him. We are working on learning how to get up so hopefully it won't take to long.
Walking outside is even harder because the ground is uneven, but because he loves being outside so much I don't think it will take him long to learn.
We are very excited to see him continue to grow, I am especially happy for this since my back was starting to wear out. And Andy is happy because now he can entertain himself.

It's Here Again!!

Yesterday was a very exciting for us on the farm... we were able to start combining! After many hours are preparing it was great to get out in the field.

The combines all lined up ready to leave the yard.

Andy excited to watch, the combine is one of his favorite machines and he is happy to just sitting the seat even though it's not moving.

Week 27

Today I have been pregnant for 1/2 a year, give or take a few days. It's been the shortest half year of my life! It's so exciting to think that Lord willing in 3 months we will be able to hold this little miracle!
This week baby Pauls is working on his/her lungs and immune system and the brain is also continuing to grow at a very rapid pace, the brain waves now are working just like a new born baby.
He/she is also opening it's eyes for the first time since it was 9 weeks old!
Over the past 15 weeks he/she has doubled in length and now measures 14 inches and weighs 2 pounds.

I am feeling great, I love looking at all the cute baby stuff but so far have not bought any (almost any) :) Josh is very protective and won't allow me to do anything, well it's not that bad, but... :) I don't mind, who doesn't like to be told to relax. :)

We thank you for each one of you for your prayers. As 30 weeks gets closer and closer both Josh and I are remembering what happened last time. We trust that God will work His will but we still covet your prayers!

The past 2 days I have been standing around and watching my family work and work and work. They have been putting up 1 of the 2 bins that need to be built before harvest, I feel kinda bad that I can't do anything but it is fun to watch the teamwork.
So here are some pictures of how it's done.

Our Alberta Trip

This past weekend we joined Josh's family and headed out to Alberta to get together was the whole Pauls family. This was my first time seeing some of them so I was excited to go. Even though it was a very short trip we had a really fun time!

We left just after 5 am Saturday

We got to Medicine Hat that day where we spent the time and celebrated Jen's 20th birthday.

Andy was so very to be able to walk around again!!

We got Calgary Sunday afternoon and right away the kids were all in the pool getting rid of some saved energy. :)

Some people decided not to swim... Josh and Grampa visiting, it's one thing they really enjoy!

Monday morning we went to tour Fort Calgary... they had a lot of old stuff to look at, it was really interesting.

Then Monday afternoon we all headed out to the mountains for family pictures. It was absolutely beautiful!!

After we got back to Calgary we enjoyed supper at Peter's Drive In. It was a beautiful day!

Thanks to Mom and Dad for inviting us to come along... we had a really great time!! We love you guys!

Week 26

This week I have really enjoy feeling our little miracle move around inside me. We just got back from a trip out to Alberta so I had a wonderful time sitting a rejoicing over our little one, I will never get tired of feeling a life grow inside me!!
He/she now moves most of the time that I am sitting or laying down.
New developments for baby Pauls are that it's eyes can now see, although it's to dark to see anything.
The nerves in it's ears are continuing to develop and he/she can hear my voice or loud noises.
He/she can now make coordinated movement's and can suck his or fingers or toes.
This week he or she weighs 1.7 pounds and is 14 inches long!

I am feeling great! Although there is a bump that sticks our more and more and reminds me that it's there every time I bend over. I decided that using a foot stool for picking peas was a good idea. :)

3 months and 1 week or 99 days left!

Week 25

Another week has passed, wow, Summer will be over before we know it, which is sad in a way, but... ever so exciting!!!

This week our baby is measuring 13.7 inches and weighs 1 1/2 pounds. He/she is busy putting on more fat, getting chubbier arms and legs. Another big thing happening is the development of the spine, including 33 vertebrae, 150 joints, and 1000 ligaments!! I am continually amazed at this little miracle growing inside me!

Week 24

I beginning to really notice that I have a living, moving baby growing inside me! I can feel where the baby is at, and sometimes my tummy looks kinda lopsided, it's very amusing for me so if you find that I'm not paying attention to you just tell me so. :)
Still feeling great, growing and waiting. The baby is now 1.3 lbs. and measures 11.8 inches. This week baby will be starting to replace his/her cartilage with real bone and also growing more layers of fat. The lungs are also still developing more.

Only 16 weeks, or 3 months and 21 days left.

Last week the field beside our house was getting sprayed by a sprayer plane, it was noisy but really interesting and fun to watch.

And in farm news Josh and Dad have been busy spraying and haying :) They got all the cut hay baled today and at supper time they had 3 fields left to spray, by the time Josh gets in tonight I'm sure it will be less. We have really been enjoying the sunshine and HOT weather, everything is growing and blooming, it's a wonderful time of year!

Week 23

Another week has gone by already! One thing that is very different between my last pregnancy and this one is how fast it's going. With Andrew it seemed to go on and on and now time is flying by!
Not much has changed this week, the baby has grown 1/2 an inch and is putting on weight (so am I) :) He/she really had a busy day today, most days I will just feel the baby at lunch time and in the evening, but today was different, must be all the strawberries I'm eating. :)
I'm still feeling great, I have all the energy that I need, although I did have a nap today. I bought a cute little pink sleeper yesterday, not sure if I'll need it this time, but just in case.

3 months and 27 days left.

Memories Monday

This morning Andy and I watched Josh head to the field to cut hay, it brought back a lot of memories from when I would head out with Josh every morning and hang out with him all day. Josh had a nice little seat in every tractor that he drove just for me and I enjoyed spending the whole day with him.
Now things have changed a lot and I don't get ride nearly as much as I would like to. But I am looking forward to when Andy can ride a long all day, I know he will have just as much fun as I did.

Week 22

This is something that I wanted to do since the beginning of my pregnancy, but of course I forgot. :) And I can't promise that I'll remember to do it every week, but I'll try.

Our baby is now 11 inches long and weighs about 1 lb. He/she is starting to grow hair :) And is working on brain development.

I am doing great, Andy and I like to go for a walk every day. I don't feel so tired anymore and as long as I eat the baby is happy. He/she is moving a lot now, especially between 10 and 12 at night, I'm not sure why then, but it's better than in the middle of the night.

Only 18 weeks or 4 months and 4 days left!!!

Camping

This last weekend we were able to take off and spend some time away from home relaxing and enjoying nature.
We went along with my family to a cabin that belongs to some friends of theirs, and we had a blast! Even though we spend the night in our tent, trying to sleep through a thunder storm, at least we stayed warm and dry. :)

And then most everyone went swimming. Randy and spent some time on the paddle boat relaxing and fishing.

Andrew had a great time splashing in the water and spending time with Grama.

On Monday after a super meal of fresh fish we spent more time in the water.

Andrew joined us in the water, but he wasn't to sure about it. I'm pretty sure he liked the dock better.

This was going to be a Father's Day post but I forgot to post it. (It's the babies fault) :)

But anyway, Happy Father's Day to one of the best Daddies that I know. It is so precious to watch Andrew watch his Daddy. As soon as he gets up from his nap every afternoon he needs to look out the window and see whats going on, and if he sees or hears anything then he knows just what he wants.

Andrew loves his Daddy very much, and is anyways ready with a cute/silly grin.

If you ask Andrew if he loves Daddy he will answer "yep" (if he is the mood) :)

Daddy is very good at cuddling and whenever Andy is not feeling well he loves to sit on Daddy's lap.

Josh you are a wonderful Daddy, Andrew is very blessed to have you. I am looking forward to watching you teach Andy all that he needs to know.

The past few weeks Josh and Dad have been busy out in the fields whenever it has been calm and not raining or threatening to rain. We spray the fields to get rid of the weeds so the we get a healthier crop.

Yes, baby Pauls is growing, and doing very good as far as I can tell.

He/she is moving now and really enjoys poking and kicking me.

I am 19 weeks and 3 days along, getting really close to half way!!

I am still feeling just fine and really enjoying the feeling of a miracle growing inside me.

Polite Babies

According to the title of this post I still think of Andrew as my baby, :) And he will be till the new baby comes, Grama says he needs to enjoy every minute of it!!

I don't remember when I first heard of teaching your baby to sign, and I don't remember what I thought about it, but when Andy came along and as he got older and started need more things I was very glad that I had heard about it! We worked on learning how to sign please for a long time, 2 months at least! Well that what it felt like. I figured out that feeding him a granola in small bites helps a lot. That's how he learnt how to sign 'more' as well, which he doesn't use very much because he figures that please works just fine.

After he finally learnt please he has not stopped using it. :) I often bug him that if he didn't know how to sign please he would have nothing to do. Almost every time you look at him he is signing it for something or other. He is very good at letting you know what he wants without saying a word.

Next came 'thank you'. He was really quick with that one and picked it up in one meal time. Signing 'all done' took longer again, he knew what I meant but there was never enough reason for him to use it. Now he will sign 'all done' but only if you hold up one of his hands.

I guess I really can't compare him to another one of our children but I do know that all my babies will be taught how to sign, it makes them so much happier! I don't blame a baby for getting upset when they can't let you know what they want. And not only does it make life easier for you and for them, they are also learning to respect others and show their respect. Andy is not allowed to cry if he wants something, if he is crying he first needs to stop and then say please.

The last few days Andy has been very thankful and has been signing 'thank you' after almost every bite of food and for anything that I give him. I don't usually make him do it that much but if he wants to I'm fine with that! And it's so sweet to see the big smile on his face every time, he knows that he is pleasing his Mom, and it makes him happy.

I'm still here.

It seems that life has been busy rushing to get work done in between rainy days. And then on rainy days I forget to blog. :)

Last week my sisters came over and we got our garden planted and some new flower beds dug up, pictures to come.

We also got some more seeding done and Josh and I started fencing. Today they are bringing cows out to the pasture, which will be really nice.

Yesterday Josh took me out shopping for the day, we had a fun and relaxing day.

Today I'm waiting for the mud to dry so that I can plant more flowers, and I hung out wash for the second time this Summer, for the first time without freezing my hands. :)

I am doing great! The baby is growing, lots. I'm 17 weeks a long today, almost half way there! So far it's gone really fast.

A lot of people have asked if we can find out if this baby will be born early, and yes we can, there is an ultrasound and blood test I could do but we decided that we would rather just take it one day at a time and trust God because we know that He will work everything out for HIS good. There are a lot of people praying for us and we thank you for that.

And now I'm out to fill the bird feeders and watch the others load cows. It's a happy day cause the sun is shinning!!!!

Wake up time around 8. Then some milk and breakfast.

Then it's time to feed his fish...

and practice walking.

After a nap and supper it's time to go out and Dad (again) :)

Going out side is Andy's favorite part of every day.

After a tearful good night to Dad it's bath time.

And once he is all clean he's tired and ready for a good night's rest so that we can do it all over again tomorrow.

A Quiet Blog...

...must mean a busy life.

I apologize for the lack of posts, I seem to have gotten out of the habit of taking pictures and therefore have nothing to show you. But I thought I should at least tell you what is has been happening around hear lately.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with all of our families, we had 5 gatherings to go too and we made it to everyone. The weather has been beautiful so we were able to be outside a lot.

Thanks to the sunshine and warm weather my garden is almost free of snow now and the daffodil's are really growing, I'm hoping that in 2 or 3 weeks we will be able to have everything planted.

Josh and Dad have got the seeder out and have been working on it, I can't tell you how far they are since I no longer follow Josh's every move. :)

Andrew is doing great, he has been stretching a lot lately. He is just a bout running along furniture and loves it when lead him around. I can't tell how much longer till he's walking, but he sure as improved in the last few weeks.

And speaking of Andrew he just started calling we from his bed so I guess that the end of this post. We hope you all are enjoying Spring!

The last while Josh has been studying for his class 1 license and for some reason Andrew loves the books he is reading. :) It's so funny to watch him but he really finds something very interesting about them. :)

So Josh ended up doing his studying at night after Andrew went to bed and in the morning before he woke up. :)

I woke this morning and became a nurse. :) Josh has had a terrible head cold and Andrew has had fever all day. So I have been keeping busy trying to keep them comfortable and get them whatever they need or want. I really don't mind it at all but I feel so sorry for them!

Finger Prints

A while back we got this aquarium because Andy REALLY loves watching fish. The other day I was dusting and I noticed there were a lot of cute little finger prints on the table, not 10 mins after I finished dusting it was covered again. :)

It's Been Awhile...

Since I have done a post or told you about how Andrew is doing;

Yesterday was a very sad day for him, he coughed and coughed and coughed some more, he needed a lot of attention just to stay happy for a few minutes. This is the first bad cold he's had this Winter, which I'm really thankful for! Today he is doing better, and I'm happy!!

Andy is still not walking, or crawling and he doesn't have any teeth. As you can see by the pictures he loves to stand at furniture. He is still slow in taking steps but his balance has come a long way. I am pretty sure that he will walk long before he crawls. He has been working on his front top 2 teeth for the past few weeks, so far they are not through, but I keep thinking this could be the day. :)

Andrew is a very happy boy and quite smart. He knows pat-a-cake, how big is Andy, praise the Lord and please, which he now does all the time, it's cute, but now it's also time to teach him that he can't have everything that he says please for. He is not saying anything, although we are really working on Da, Da and Ma, Ma.

His favorite things to do are stand and watch the Gaithers or his fish, he loves it when you play with him or if he can play in his exracauser, that and drink his milk. He has been eating table food for a couple of weeks now, he is enjoying it, and in answer to our prayers and some wonderful advice constipation is no longer bothering him!!

Andy has really stretched lately, he is now 26 inches tall and weighs 20 pounds. He loves giving kisses and snuggling with Mom.

Some days it seems like Andrew will never grow up, when I see other babies younger than him doing stuff that he is not able to do yet, I would never trade him for anything in the world, but I would also love for him to learn to do more things. But then I think of where God has brought him from and I am once again so thankful just to have him in our family, I don't care how long it's going to take him till he walks or gets teeth and talks, we love him for who he is and we know that God has a special plan for our special little guy!!

My Birthday

Every birthday I have had has been different, each one exciting in it's own way. This year my wonderful husband took me out the city to watch the Manitoba Moose play. (I had been asking to go all Winter already) So it was just the gift I wanted. :)

The game was great, the Moose won 5-0 My cousin and his wife came too and then we stayed at a hotel for night. It was a wonderful time, very relaxing and enjoyable.

This last week started off with our little man getting chicken pox. Sunday to Tuesday were not very happy days for him, he ate little and had fever. But yesterday he started feeling better and today he is even more back to his normal, happy self.

One year ago today we were still living in the city, praying that we would soon be able to take Andrew home. Keeping Busy

Even though it's Winter on the farm there are still things to do. Last week Josh was busy hauling barley out of the bin ring and to the elevator. Thankfully everything worked out just fine and he was done in 3 days.

Since I have Andy to look after I was not outside for this one, except to bring out lunch and take pictures. But the girls were out there helping Josh and Dad, thanks girls!! :)

Well... I am 4 days late with this post, but since Josh is the most important person in my life I couldn't not do it, so here's to you Dear, Happy 21st Birthday!!!

Josh is my best friend, since the day we started courting till now I would do anything to spend time with him, he is wonderful!

Joshua is a wonderful leader, already is less than 2 years of marriage he has proved that over and over again. You are very wise and every day I live I want to honor you.

Josh loves I mean LOVES playing football. He is out on the field whenever he has a spare minute, and always asking for players. :) I really enjoy watching him play and playing with him. And he is really good at it too!

Before Andrew was born I would tag along with Josh everywhere he went, he always made riding the tractor fun, many, many memories have been made riding with him.

Josh takes time for me. Whenever I need to talk, or cry, or just have him hold me he is always there, he is never to busy for me.

Josh is funny, and he makes it his business to get other people to laugh. Whenever someone is having an off day you can be very sure that after spending a few minutes with Josh they will be laughing. I love that about him a lot, he can make life's problems look so much smaller that way!

Josh doesn't really enjoy taking pictures, although for me he will do it, but he does not like the flash at all!!! :)

Josh would rather drive the combine than the grain truck, but he really good at the trucking part. I really like going along with him!

Josh is a super wonderful Dad!! Watching him with Andy touches my heart, he is so loving. I can't wait till Andrew will be following him everywhere, he will have such a great teacher!

Joshua is the love of my life.

Josh's favorite football team is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. (naturally) :)

Josh is a really, really good puller outer person. :)

He buys me flowers for Mother's day, our anniversary, my birthday and sometimes just because. And if you know me you know how much that means to me! (I love flowers)

Josh enjoys watching football and hockey, and he is also teaching Andy to do the same. :)

Josh keeps me warm. My cold toes have been warmed countless times by him. But he also warms my heart with the way that he loves me, the way he cares for my and how he makes me feel so special.

Joshua is a man of faith. Last Winter when Andy was born he taught the true meaning of faith. I still clearly remember our trip into the hospital that morning, I was so afraid, I really didn't know what was going to happen to our baby, but Josh held my hand the whole way there and kept saying, we have to have faith, God knows what is best for us. And through the next 3 months he reminded of that so many times!

Josh does not like sleeping a lone. :) This was my bed for the 2 nights before Andy was born and after trying to sleep on a chair/bed he moved in with me. Needless to say the nurses found it funny. :)

Hot chocolate is Josh favorite drink in the Winter, and ice tea in the Summer.

After some years of practice Josh as become really great at filling bins, not to full but just full enough. :)

Joshua is my protector. When I was pregnant he was always reminding not to this and don't lift that. I feel so safe when I am with him. I know that he would gladly give his life to keep me safe.

Josh is the man that I want to grow old with. God has blessed so much by placing you in my life. I love you now more than ever and I look forward to spending lots and lots of years together with you.

Gingerbread House

Every year on my side of the family we make a gingerbread house and then eat/destroy it on Christmas. :)

I don't have any pictures of eating it but here are some of building it.
